Our Holiday Tradition

To keep Christmas with us all year we work on a special paper chain to put up at Christmas to decorate the home along with the other decorations. Each evening, all year long, we write down on a paper chain link something specific we have done for someone else that day. We then staple the links together. Each night we do this, and at the end of the year, we have a long chain to go around the house. No matter what faith or religion a person is this tradition can be used because we are all connected by our humanity. We each give and receive to enrich each others life which is truly at the core of Christmas. This spirit should be with us each day of our life. Looking at the chain always reminds me that "One person can make a difference." |
